Nick Lachey On Jessica Simpson’s Weight Debate: ‘It’s Ridiculous’

SOURCE

TAMPA, Florida --

Nick Lachey is sounding off on the criticism that his ex, Jessica Simpson, endured following last week’s Weight-Gate. “I think it’s ridiculous. I really do,” Nick told Access Hollywood at the Nick Lachey & Jimmie Johnson 2nd Super Skins Annual Celebrity Golf Classic on Sunday in Tampa.

“I can’t believe it’s a story to be honest with you,” he added.

Nick wasn’t the only Lachey to come to Jessica’s defense following her now infamous appearance at the Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff where the singer sported high-waisted “mom-style” jeans, a leopard print double belt and a tight black tank top.

“It’s hard for anybody that’s in the public eye to, to have to deal with that kind of nonsense um, now I think it’s completely unjustified,” Nick’s brother, Drew Lachey, told Access. “People just need to worry a little bit more about themselves than whether somebody else gained 5, 10 pounds.”

Drew told Access that he had not seen the pictures that were splashed across magazines and celebrity Web sites last week. “I haven’t even seen the pictures that people are talking about,” he added. “But, you know, if she did gain a little weight, so what. “That doesn’t effect anybody’s life except for hers.”

it's pretty much impossible for Jessica Simpson to ever look all that bad... she's Jessica Simpson, after all
