Nick Lachey believes weddings are really more the "bride's day," but that doesn't mean he isn't part of the planning process in his and fiancée Vanessa Minnillo's nuptials.
"I'm a big believer in making sure she gets what she wants," Lachey, 37, told PEOPLE on Friday. "I really want it to be her vision and her fantasy, but we're a team effort and we both try to split the load equally."
Preparations have been manageable for the former 98 Degrees lead singer and his soon-to-be-wife, 30.
"Vanessa is not at all a bridezilla," Lachey says. "I can't imagine an easier bride through all of this than she is."
Lachey, who is playing coy about specifics of his big day, will only say, "we have a pretty good idea of when we're getting married."
With the couple's wedding shower already out of the way, it's time for Lachey to live it up during his final days as a single man.
"I have a bachelor party coming up," he says. "I'm looking forward to being surprised. It'll be fun."
"When you get to this point in your life, guys from college and guys from high school have their families and kids now and we don't get to see each other as much," Lachey continues. "A bachelor party is kind of a good excuse for all of us to get together and tie one on for old times' sake."
Lachey is the honorary spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters' annual fundraising event Saturday at Great Wolf Lodge resorts around the country.
