Nick Lachey 'So Ready' To Be A Dad

"I'm very excited. She's great. You know, it's starting to get a little uncomfortable now. It's the dead of summer. It's hot. She's very pregnant," he told MTV News at the Mixtape Festival last weekend, where 98 Degrees reunited after a decade apart. Lachey wasn't only ready to hit the stage again with his fellow boy banders, but he also couldn't wait for the arrival of his baby boy.

"So ready, I think, as we both are for him to come out and meet the little guy," he added. "It's about time."
Lachey made the announcement that he and his former MTV VJ wife are expecting their first child when he sat down to co-host "Live! With Kelly" back in March. And, now, with the birth so near, his brother Drew is willing to share some parenting secrets with him.
"My advice for parenting [is] don't take other people's advice because each kid's different, each situation is different, each parent is different," the father of two said. "So just hold the baby as much as you can, love the baby and everything else will work itself out from there."
And judging his bandmates' experience as fathers, Nick will surely take their advice.
"They're great dads, very loving dads," Nick added about Drew and bandmate Jeff Timmons. (Justin Jeffre is the only guy in the group who will have no kids.) "So they set good examples for Justin and I."
Back in March, Lachey shared what name he'd like to give his son when he sat down beside Kelly Ripa on her talk show. "If it's a boy, we're not really sure yet," he said of the names the couple had been tossing around. "[I used to think] if I have a son first, he's going to be named Colin. Now Colin, it's not a good name [to Vanessa]. It's a tough thing, these names."

Drew Lachey: My Brother Nick Doesn't Need Parenting Advice from Me

Drew Lachey: My Brother Nick Doesn't Need Parenting Advice from Me
Celebrity Parade | Parade.com

Though Drew Lachey and his brother Nick Lachey are currently back on the road together as part of 98 Degrees, don't expect pearls of fatherly wisdom to be shared.
"I don't give any advice. That's rule number one," Drew, a father of of two, told Parade.com. "You don't tell anyone how to raise their kids." He adds that he's not worried about his brother, who is expecting his first child with wife Vanessa Minnillo. "He's going to love that baby so much, everything is going to be fine," Drew adds. "I don't have to give him any advice. He knows how to hold it, love it, and hug it. That's basically all you have to do. Everything else will work itself out."
As for reuniting as a band, the foursome (which also includes Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons), haven't missed a step. "Not a whole lot has changed," he says. "Everyone kind of falls into the same roles. It's good."
Drew also talked about coming back for another season of Dancing with the Stars after winning his season in 2006.
Read on for what he thinks about his fellow All-Stars, the secret weapon he has up his sleeve, and why athletes seem to win a lion's share of the trophies:
On his competition.
"Well, there are six champions and a lot of runner-ups. I'm glad I'm able to come back and prove to myself and everybody else that yes, the dancing and the talent have improved every season but season two can still hang! It's going to be a lot of fun and I look forward to it. I think it will be looser at first until week one. Until they go, 'oh snap! They brought it. I better step up my game!' Once that happens, the gloves will come off and people will be competitive. Until that happens it'll be pretty jovial and fun. We'll see."
What he's going to do differently.
"For the most part I left it out there. There are a couple things I would have done differently like different costumes, different choreography. But I don't do anything halfway and this season isn't any different."I've seen the seasons go by and I know what to expect a little bit more. In season 2, we were stil figuring out what the show was. They had a little costume room and now they like have a sweat shop. It takes up a whole floor. The show has expanded, the cast has expanded. Everything's gotten bigger and better and shinier with more rhinestones. There's going to be a learning curve but I feel confident with the knowledge from doing the show."
On having new moves.
"There are certain things I can do physically that we didn't quite take advantage of [on season two]. Not necessarily tricks but I'm more athletic than we took advantage of. Obviously the choreography is stepped up a lot. There are more dances. At that time, my wife was about to have a baby so I was all over the place. So it will be good to just be able to be t here and focus on what I have to do."
On having Dancing on his mind 24/7.
"It's weird, I listen to music in general and I go, 'wow, that would make a really good salsa, or a really good Cha Cha.' And I'm like, 'what is wrong with you! stop thinking in those terms!' Music is a huge part of my life so every song that I listen to, to have that be one of the first things, you want to get it out of your brain."
On being nervous.
"I'm nervous about all of it! Who wouldn't be nervous going in front of 20 million people doing something you're not 100% comfortable doing. Yes, I've done it before and won it but that doesn't discount the fact that you have 12 other people who are very good that trying to do the same thing."
Performers vs. Athletes.
"There's nothing [of a rivalry] that is blatantly out there. A lot of it comes down to [athletes] being able to take coaching, they're able to listen, they're 100% focused on the goal. While performers, by trade, we're a little more creative and out there. So athletes have that advantage. There is some serious competition out there."

Post-98 Degrees reunion, Jeff Timmons in talks with Steck

When you have a 98 Degrees tattoo on your right biceps — as does Jeff Timmons — you are sort of beholden to the brand.
So it made sense that Timmons has been eager to reunite the 1990s boy band — or rather, formerboy band — for an appearance on the “Today” show last Friday and a spot on the bill at last weekend’s “MixTape Festival” in Hershey, Pa. It was the first live performance by the 98 Degrees in 11 years, and their set closed the two-day festival at Hersheypark Stadium.
Others on the nostalgia-tinged bill were Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, the Dan Band and LL Cool J. Kelly Clarkson, the Fray, the Wanted, DJ Pauly D, Carly Rae Jepson and Steel Panther (presumably to instill a sense of stability to the two-day event) also performed.
But the long-awaited reunion of 98 Degrees, in the works for more than two years, was the most-anticipated performance.
“We had the opportunity to do this really big festival, and also the ‘Today’ show, the biggest show on morning TV, so we agreed to do it. Aside from the iHeart Music Festival, who knows if there is going to be another megashow like this for us to perform?”
Timmons has returned to game-plan his career in Las Vegas. He has moved his family to Summerlin, and is coming off a summer-long club show at Ovation at Green Valley Ranch. The interactive, put-your-hands-in-the-air production “Wired” forged an atmosphere of fun, but Timmons is seeking a stronger show somewhere on the Strip.
“We tried it at GVR and saw that the show could work, but it was off the Strip and it’s a different kind of casino, for locals,” Timmons said. “My demographic skews younger.”
Timmons has been in talks with someone who can help make that happen, Las Vegas producer Adam Steck of SPI Entertainment. This year, Steck teamed with Mike Tyson to take Tyson’s “Undisputed Truth” autobiographical one-man show from MGM Grand’s Hollywood Theatre to Broadway.
“Adam is somebody I’m really talking with, a lot,” Timmons said last week, before heading off to appear on “Today” in New York. “He’s great. We’ve talked about doing everything from a male revue brand to revamping a variety show, maybe bringing the show I just did at GVR to the Strip.”
Timmons’ connection to male revues stems from his appearance in “Chippendales” at the Rio in the spring and summer of 2011. On Saturday, he’s performing two songs during the AFAN Black & White Party at the Hard Rock Hotel’s Nirvana Pool.
An adept marketer who is at once chatty and smart in public appearances, Timmons had a successful run with the Chipps and has gained a grip on what it feels like to live in Vegas, where it isn’t always 98 degrees.

98 Degrees 'Definitely' Making New Music

It's been more than a decade since 98 Degrees shared a stage together, and a lot has happened to its members since.
Nick Lachey famously got married to (and got divorced from)Jessica Simpson and then got married again to Vanessa Minnillo. Lachey's brother Drew, won the second season of Dancing with the Stars, while Justin Jeffre made a career switch to politics, running for (but losing) theMayor of Cincinnati. And Jeff Timmons released a solo album and put on that infamous bowtie for a limited run for a Chippendales male stripper show at RIO Las Vegas.

Fast forward to 2012, and the group is finally back together. 98 Degrees reunited last week on the "Today" show and played their first full concert at the MixTape Festival at Hershey Stadium.
"It's been 11 years since we've been on stage together," Drew Lachey told MTV News moments after they performed. "To get back out there and have fans still singing along, cheering. It was a dream come true."
The group has been rehearsing tirelessly for their big return, relearning dance moves and even their own lyrics, which Nick Lachey admits, has always been a problem.
"We've always forgotten our own lyrics. That's something we did even when we toured for two and a half years straight," Nick said. "I think we all had a little rust to kick off, but it's also funny how quickly it all came back. It is really like riding a bike once you start doing it, you're like 'Oh, I remember this now'. It's kind of like in your body still and it was fun." So after all this time, what prompted a reunion? Well, fans, you can think Jeffre.
"I've been wanting to get back together with these guys for a long time," said Jeffre, who initiated the reunion.
Nick Lachey teased, "It bordered on harassment; let's be honest."
All kidding aside, the group is happy to be back together and is eager to release new music.
"We're definitely going to get back into the studio and make some new music. The next couple of months are kind of busy for us on different levels, but we are going to get in the studio and start making new music and see where the creative process takes us and then we will see what 2013 holds in store for us," said Drew Lachey, who will compete on the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars." "We are listening to songs, writing songs, so hopefully in the next couple of months. Nick has this one little thing he has to take care of, but once he gets that out of the way."
That one "little thing" just happens to be his upcoming bundle of joy. Lachey is expecting his first child, a baby boy, with Minillo any day now.
"This kid's screwing up everything!" Lachey joked.
Drew added, "Once we get settled and all the songs together, we'll go together in the studio."
