Couple Gets Engaged at 98 Degrees Concert—Is This 1998 All Over Again?

98 DEGREES HELPS WITH EPIC PROPOSAL AT CONEY ISLAND #1

And yes, "I Do (Cherish You)" is involved.
This isn't a time warp back to the late '90s, but it'll certainly give you a major dose of nostalgia. One lucky couple just got engaged with a little help from 98 Degrees and one of their classics.
The boy banders introduced the oh-so-romantic "I Do (Cherish You)" by telling the crowd in Coney Island during their MY2K tour that "there's one ballad that we've been known for all over the planet, everywhere we go, no matter what language they speak."

That's when a fan named Rosa was introduced and had the honor of being serenaded by the handsome singers—Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre, and Lachey bros Nick and Drew—as well as taking turns dancing with each of them.
"I don't see a ring on your finger," Nick Lachey prompted before the song. "Will you marry us?"
At the end of the song, Rosa's beau, Mike McGinn (a DJ from 92.3 AMP Radio), is introduced and makes quite the grand entrance, followed by a nervous speech before popping the question to his lady love. The crowd goes wild, as they should, because it's a yes!
Astra, one of Mike's radio colleagues, shared the epic video on YouTube and revealed how this all came together. Turns out, Mike told her Rosa was a big fan of 98 Degrees—especially Jeff Timmons—and since Astra happens to know him, the stars aligned.

The brothers, who were members of ‘90s boy band 98 degrees, plan to open a bar in their hometown of Cincinnati.

Brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, who first shot to fame in '90s boy band 98 Degrees, will be starring in a new reality TV series chronicling their attempts to open a bar in their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Set to premiere in 2015, "Lachey's Bar" will follow the pair as they fulfill a 'lifelong dream' to open a watering hole in their name, reports Deadline.com .
Cable network A&E Network has ordered 10 episodes from Leftfield Pictures which is producing the series.
If the concept sounds familiar, that's because A&E already airs 'The Wahlburgers,'' which follows another pair of famous brothers -- Donnie and Mark Wahlberg -- from the 1990s who likewise enjoyed boy band fame and chart-topping hits that earned them the adoration of screaming girls.
The Lachey series is currently in production in Cincinnati, where the elder Nick will likely settle with his wife Vanessa Minnillo, who is pregnant with next second child. The couple will live next door to brother Drew.
Nick Lachey is old hat to the workings of reality TV. In addition to his infamous series "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica" which followed him and first wife Jessica Simpson as they navigated life as newlywed stars, Lachey let cameras follow him around for his second wedding to Minnillo. The wedding was televised on TLC.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids Schools announced Friday, June 6, that Coit Creative Arts Academy was one of the winners of VH1 Save The Music Foundation's KEYS+KIDS Inaugural Piano Grant Program.
Singer and VH1 Big Morning Buzz Live's host Nick Lachey recently made the announcement that Coit is among 10 schools across the country that will receive a electronic music package worth $10,000, including a Yamaha Upright Hybrid piano. The grant is in partnership with singer, songwriter and pianist Sara Bareilles.
"We are extremely excited to use this state of the art hybrid piano, PA system and microphone for all of our future concerts and performances," said Dave Dublis, creative arts specialist for Coit, a K-5 theme school, located at 617 Coit Ave. NE, with 284 students.
"A donation of this magnitude will help our already growing creative arts curriculum improve immensely."
The VH1 Save The Music campaign works to restore instrumental music education. The nonprofit has delivered $51 million worth of musical instruments to 1,900 schools. In 2013, the nonprofit gave grants to 48 Michigan music programs, valued at approximately $30,000 each.
Coit was the second school announced by Lachey. Check out the video:

Nick Lachey Talks Camden's Milestones, Says Son Is "Fearless"

Nick Lachey and son Camden

At 21-months-old, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo's son, Camden, is already a city slicker. "He loves New York," Lachey, 40, tells Us Weekly of their son. The family relocated from their Cincinnati and L.A. home bases in January so the former 98 Degrees member could host VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live from the music channel's headquarters.

Especially enamored by the taxis and fire trucks on the city streets, Camden will often just pause to survey the scene around him. "There's plenty of stimulation. Camden stands at the apartment window and stares," Lachey tells Us. "He loves going for walks and checking it all out. He's fearless, which I love."

One of Lachey's favorite ways to bond with Camden is during breakfast, when The Sing-Off host cooks and sings to his son.

"I make him scrambled eggs, and he gets his apple cinnamon oatmeal every day. It's our bonding time together," Lachey tells Us. "I sing to him when I wake him up and put him down for a nap."
