Dancin to change Diabetes

Source

dancin' to change diabetes

Calling all dancers, movers and shakers! From ballerinas to breakdancers to those who just boogie in their spare time!

ABC's Dancing with the Stars champion Drew Lachey and Novo Nordisk, a world leader in diabetes care, invite you to create a new video or submit an old video showing off dance moves that keep you healthy and active.

Diabetes affects an estimated 20.8 million people in the United States and 246 million more people worldwide. Although nutrition and exercise are indispensable components of diabetes prevention and control, two out of three people diagnosed with diabetes are not managing their chronic condition, putting them at an alarming risk of serious complications.

Through the Dancin' to Change Diabetes contest and the Changing Diabetes® Bus World Tour, Novo Nordisk is trying to turn the tide of diabetes through education on the importance of exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

You've seen Drew dancing with the pop group 98 Degrees and win season two of Dancing with the Stars. Now, he gets to be the judge. So submit an old video or grab a video camera, pick a favorite tune and show us the dancing that may help to keep you fit and curb the risk of diabetes. Get moving!

Winners will receive one of the following prizes:

  • First place: a year-long gym membership within close proximity to winner.
  • Second place: a WiiTM System including WiiTM controllers, Wii FitTM and Dance Dance RevolutionTM.
  • Third place: a four hundred dollar gift certificate to REI®, a popular sporting goods store.
