98 Degrees Will Perform on 'Today Show', Working On New Music

Nick Lachey’s Baby Prep: Lots of Sleep

SOURCE
For soon-to-be dad Nick Lachey, getting ready for the birth of his first child doesn’t necessarily mean stocking up on diapers and pacifiers.

“I think the constant feedback is, ‘Get all the sleep you can now because you’re not going to get it once the baby gets here,’” Lachey, 38, whose wifeVanessa is due with a baby boy on Sept. 15, tells PEOPLE.
“I’ve definitely tried to take that to heart and get rest before he gets here.”
Extra shut-eye aside, he says, “I don’t think youcan prepare yourself for this. I think you just have to know you want to do it and jump in with both feet, and you’ll be great.”

And as the due date approaches, Lachey, who’s paired with boxing champion Laila Ali in NBC’s upcoming Stars Earn Stripes military-style competition, says his wife-of-one year, 31, is feeling great.
“Her pregnancy’s been very smooth,” he says. “Fingers are crossed.”

Does Nick's New Reality Show 'Turn Vanessa On'?

SOURCE

By ANTOINETTE BUENO

NBC's highly anticipated new competition show Stars Earn Stripes features eight celebrities who will be challenged to execute complicated missions inspired by real military exercises, with the winner earning a cash prize on behalf of a military, veterans or first-responder charity. Each celeb will be aired with a special operative from a military branch (including former U.S. Army Delta Force and Green Berets, U.S. Navy SEALS, U.S. Marines and police officers) who train alongside their partners and compete in the missions with them.
ET recently caught up with a few of the celebrity cast members at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, where Nick Lachey dished on the dangers of participating in such an intense show, and how his pregnant wife Vanessa Lachey dealt with it.
"You have to understand, this is not an exaggeration -- you're jumping out of a helicopter that's 15 stories in the air -- anything can happen," Nick emphasized. "And in those moments I'm asking myself, 'Why do I have to do this right now, why do I have to be here right now?," he joked. "[But] none of us went into this thinking, 'OK, we're gonna die.' We went into it thinking, 'OK, we're gonna come out on the other end.' So you know, she was all for it. I come home dirty and sweaty, and I think she actually kind of thought it was a turn on. Daddy went to work and got a little grungy and came home, and you know, dinner was on the table. It's good stuff," he laughed.
Todd Palin's famous wife Sarah Palin was also all for his participation in the risky show.
"She encouraged me to participate because of the cause and with our son being in Afghanistan, you know, he needed to have something to laugh about this fall watching TV. He could watch his dad miss targets," he joked.
But the realistic missions were not all fun and games according to Expendablesstar and former NFL pro Terry Crews.
"Believe me, it was harrowing," he said about some of the unforgettable experiences. "You see everything laid out there on a cool-looking monitor and you think, 'oh yeah, that's cool' -- then you get out there and bombs are going off, and helicopters flying over your head, and you're realizing that you've got 70 pounds of equipment on and water and you can't swim like me? I was like 'uh oh!,'" he laughed.
Check out the video to hear why joining the military-themed show was so important to frequent scene-stealer Crews.
Hosted by Gen. Wesley Clark and Samantha Harris, Stars Earn Stripespremieres August 13 on NBC.

Nick Lachey speaks out on Pat Summitt

SOURCE
Copy of nick lachey POSTER.jpgNick Lachey -- boy band member and reality TV star -- finds Pat Summitt an inspiration.

"She really redefined women's basketball, for me at least," Lachey said during a Hollywood party Wednesday. "She made it really relevant and brought it to the forefront. There's a reason why the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame is in Knoxville, and it's because of Pat Summitt and what she has meant to that game."
Lachey, a member of the recently reunited 98 Degrees, is a fan if the SEC and has kept up with Summitt's career over the years.
"It's a shame that (her career) has come to an abrupt end," he said. "Sports, in general, has come to respect her for what she has done for her sport."
He says Summitt has always been an inspiration on the court. But, now, with herdiagnosis of early Alzheimer's disease, the former Lady Vols coach is even more of one. "The bravery and courage she has shown is an inspiration," Lachey said. "I have an enormous amount of respect for Coach Summitt and what she has done."

Drew Lachey again ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Written by jkiesewetter

Drew Lachey will be “Dancing with the Stars” this fall…  as an All-Star.

The Cincinnati resident will be one of the 13 celebrities in ABC’s first-ever“Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” cast.  He won the second season (in 2006) with Cheryl Burke.
ABC announced 12 stars today: Kelly Monaco, Emmitt Smith, Shawn Johnson, Bristol Palin, Kirstie Alley, Joey Fatone, Helio Castroneves, Apolo Anton Ohno, Melissa Rycroft, Pamela Anderson, Gilles Marini and Lachey.
The celebrities’ partners will be announced on “Good Morning America” Aug. 13, the day after NBC’s “Summer Olympics” telecast ends.
The 13th contestant — Sabrina Bryan, Carson Kressley or Kyle Massey (not Jerry Springer?) — will be selected by viewers as the “Viewers’ Choice: All-Star.” Fans can vote today through Friday, August 24. The final cast member will be announced live on “Good Morning America” Monday, Aug. 27.

Pamela Anderson, Bristol Palin and Drew Lachey Talk 'Dancing with the Stars: All Stars'

ABC announced its cast for Dancing with the Stars: All Stars today. Some of the cast members, though not all 13, met the Television Critics Association to speak about their return.
Pamela Anderson said she has learned how to last longer from her previous experience, where she was eliminated in week seven. “I’m actually going to try to ask people to vote because I didn’t realize how important that was last time,” Anderson said. She added she has a personal reason for getting on stage again. “I have a lot of romantic personal reasons why I wanted to do the show but it’s a great opportunity to be in front of people and talk about what you really believe in. I believe in saving the planet and environmental issues and animal issues, so I’m locked and loaded and ready to blast off.”
Drew Lachey was concerned about aging six years since he participated in season two. “I had a very good time doing it but I was season two,” Lachey said. “So for me coming back, that was six years ago. I almost have something to prove. The competition has stepped up every season since there. I’m six years older. I want to see how I stack up against the best from every other season. I’m going to stretch, get my partner whoever they may be, hopefully they’re short. It could be me and Kim, [we’d] be like The odd couple. I’m just going to try and take everything I learned, including mistakes and apply them to this season.”
Bristol Palin got some critical press when she appeared on Dancing with the Stars, but that did not deter her from coming back. “I just think that God provides opportunities like this and you can either go out and do them or not do them,” Palin said. “I figure that the press is going to be talking about me no matter what, so I might as well be having fun.”
ABC expects to announce dance partners on August 13.

Drew Lachey on the Return of 98 Degrees

SOURCE
By ANDY GREENE

'It was almost like no time had passed at all, other than a couple grey hairs and a bleeding ulcer

Last week, the four members of 98 Degrees gathered in Cincinnati at the School for Creative and Performing Arts for their first rehearsal since the boy band split a decade ago. "It was a little nerve-wracking," group member Drew Lachey tells Rolling Stone. "Nobody really knew what we were getting into. We started off with 'Invisible Man' and 'Just Give Me One Night (Una Noche).' It was surreal to do the same songs and same staging we had done in the past, but it was almost like no time had passed at all – other than a couple grey hairs and a bleeding ulcer."
The group was rehearsing for their August 17th performance on The Today Show and their set at Hershey Pennsylvania's Mixtape Festival the following day. "Everybody just had to get to a place in their lives where they felt comfortable with committing to being in a group again," says Lachey. "We're all in a place where we can get behind it and give it a good run. We've been talking about it for years, but someone would have a commitment for a six-month period and after that someone else would have a commitment. We didn't want to go out without the complete line-up. It had to be all four of us."
The timing also seemed right for the quartet to return. The New Kids on the Block made a killing on the road with the Backstreet Boys last year, and One Direction has introduced a whole new generation of fans to boy bands. "The pop music genre has come back around," says Lachey. "Music is very cyclical. You go through rock stages, R&B stages, rap stages… It's an uphill battle if you try and do pop during a rap stage."
In the 10 years since 98 Degrees split, the four guys have gone off in very different directions. Nick Lachey famously divorced Jessica Simpson, married Vanessa Minnillo and hosted NBC's The Sing-Off. His brother, Drew, appeared on Dancing With the Stars and joined the Broadway cast of Spamalot. Jeff Timmons has recently been performing with a Chippendales show in Las Vegas, while Justin Jeffre got immersed in politics and ran for mayor of Cincinnati in 2005.
Lachey said that it took him until a few years after 98 Degrees split to fully appreciate what they had. "The odds of being in a successful group and selling a million records are about .05 percent, or something ridiculous," he says. "When pop music was king, we were one of the three big groups [along with N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys] in the States. It doesn't happen very often, and it took me some time to really appreciate that."
The group's plans beyond The Today Show and the Mixtape Festival are unclear. "We're gonna get in the studio and make some new music," says Lachey. "Then we'll see where we go from there. Nothing is set in stone, though I don't think we'll do any more shows this summer. Down the road, a tour would be ideal for us. Right now, we just wanna make sure we do this one show the right way and come back looking and sounding our best. But, later on, a big tour would be great."

What a bump! Nick Lachey strokes wife Vanessa's huge pregnant belly in Twitter picture

SOURCE
By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

anessa Lachey is keeping her Twitter followers well informed on her changing shape as she nears the end of her pregnancy.
The 31-year-old proudly put her bump on show in all its glory in a Twitter picture posted on her account today.
She dressed in a revealing bandeau top and white skirt for the impromptu photo shoot and her husband Nick Lachey, 38, stepped in to tenderly stroking her exposed belly.

\What a bump! Vanessa Minnillo posted this picture of husband Nick Lachey stroking her belly on Twitter today
She wrote alongside the picture: 'My Happiness... My Family! Ahhh, My Boys!'
Vanessa, who is due in early September, said last month that she was worried about her belly button turning out during pregnancy.
She was concerned about developing what looks like a 'third nipple' she is even scared to sneeze normally.
She told Bethenny Frankel: 'Everyone’s belly button is different. Some women’s belly buttons pop and some women’s don’t. I thought, "Oh I wouldn’t mind if it popped because then it would be like the turkey’s done," right? And it’s cute! But my stylist was like, ‘"You don’t want that to pop. That’s like having a third nipple".

The heat is on again! Nick (second from left) is reuniting with his 98 Degrees bandmates Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre and Drew Lachey pictured here in 2001
'Every time I sneeze, I hold my belly button in. For some reason I think I’m going to sneeze it out.'
While her belly button does seem to have popped out, it seems she's embraced the transformation and is happy to show it off.
As well as a baby, Nick has another exciting project in the works - he confirmed yesterday that he is reunited with his 98 Degrees bandmates.
Nick, his brother Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre will come together for the first time in ten years for one performance at the Summer Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA.
They are also said to be recording new material.

Nick Lachey to Future Son: "Hurry Up And Get Out"

SOURCE
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minillo arrive for the opening of Marquee at The Star on March 30, 2012 in Sydney, Australia.

Vanessa Minnillo's due date is getting closer!
At the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills July 24, the TV host's husband, Nick Lachey, 38, gave Us Weekly an update on how they're prepping for the arrival of their first son.
"We're just trying to enjoy our last couple of months of freedom here: getting the nursery ready, making sure we've got all our hospital plans together," Lachey explained. "All that stuff."

Minnillo, 31, has been blessed with "a very smooth pregnancy," Lachey told Us. "We're just excited to move onto the next phase and meet this little guy."
"You see him in sonograms and you feel him move -- you just want to meet him!" Lachey added. "Hurry up and get out of there!"
The spouses -- who married on Sir Richard Branson's private Necker Island on July 15, 2011 -- are "more excited, I think, than nervous" to become first-time parents, according to Lachey. "Obviously you don't know everything that goes into it until you get into it, but I'm fired up up to meet him."
In the meantime, Lachey is gearing up for the August 13 premiere of Stars Earn Stripes, a new NBC reality series that challenges eight celebrities to execute complicated missions inspired by real military exercises.
"I was most intrigued about meeting Todd Palin, because he's such a mysterious figure to me. I thought, 'Am I going to have anything in common with this guy?' And as it turned out, the guy is awesome. I love him," Lachey raved of Sarah Palin's husband. "We had a great time and I enjoyed getting to meet everybody."
In addition to Lachey and Palin, 47, Stars Earn Stripes also features boxing champion Laila Ali, 34, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman actor Dean Cain, 45, Newsroom actor and former NFL player Terry Crews, 43, Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince, 38, Olympic ski racer Picabo Street, 41, and WWE Diva Eve Torres, 27. The NBC series premieres August 13 at 8 p.m. EST.
As if that weren't enough, Lachey will perform with 98 Degrees for the first time in 10 years at the Summer Mixtape Festival in Hersey, Pennsylvania on August 18.

98 Degrees will reunite for TODAY concert

SOURCE
By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper

Put on your slap bracelets and pour yourself a big glass of clear cola, the 1990s revival continues with famed boy band 98 Degrees reuniting to perform live on TODAY on Aug. 17.
The band is known for such hits as "Thank God I Found You," "Because of You," "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)" and "The Hardest Thing."
The band consists of brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons. Nick Lachey starred with former wife Jessica Simpson on the reality show "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica," played a regular role on "Charmed," and hosted "The Sing-Off." Drew Lachey won the second season of "Dancing With the Stars." Timmons pursued a solo career, and Jeffre moved into politics and activism.
The day after their TODAY performance, Aug. 18, the group will perform at the MixTape music festival in Hershey, Pa.
"In the ten years since our last performance as 98 Degrees we've each achieved personal success and grown as individuals, while remaining a close-knit family," the group told Us Weekly. "We have also been fortunate to have the support and enduring love of our fans every step of the way. With so much to celebrate, this reunion is going to be one big party, so whether you tune in to the Today Show or join us at the MixTape Festival, everyone's invited."
Unlike many other bands, 98 Degrees never formally broke up, but the group hasn't performed together since 2005, when member Justin Jeffre was running for mayor of Cincinnati.

GREAT ARTICLE WRITTEN BY JEFF HIMSELF!!!

Image

While Robin Leach takes his traditional summer vacation under the Tuscan sun in Italy, many of our Strip and Las Vegas personalities have stepped forward in his absence to pen their own words of wisdom. Our thanks to them all. We continue today with 98 Degrees hit-maker and singer Jeff Timmons, who became a Las Vegas resident after his Chippendales guest run at the Rio and is now headlining at Green Valley Ranch.
I am sitting in my rental house at my computer, which is smack dab in the middle of my kitchen on a table, sipping on a cheap glass of champagne very stressed and content. My new show has just started at Green Valley Ranch. I’m looking at a red mountain enjoying the dry, warm air.
Where am I? Is this Las Vegas? It might as well be anywhere. I might as well be a thousand miles away and not 20-something-plus miles away from Sin City. This is what I love about life.
Las Vegas represents a total metamorphosis for me personally and professionally. After experiencing the whirlwind of the behemoth known as 98 Degrees -- a group that had collaborated with Stevie Wonder for a Disney soundtrack and Mariah Carey and Joe for a #1 Billboard hit, sang for presidents, toured the world and had many Top Five hits -- everything came to a halt.
The media and public were over the pop explosion of the late 1990s and early 2000s. I went from having groupies hiding under room service carts, making fake press passes, sneaking into our tour bus when we were onstage, being ushered to the front of lines at clubs and getting meals comped to, well, nothing.
It was amazing, albeit depressing at the time, to see how things can change so quickly. There was never a time when I took anything that happened to 98 Degrees for granted. I loved and appreciated it with the utmost sincerity, which is probably why the shift seemed to sting even more.
On top of that, my personal life was a disaster. My young marriage was already failing; calling that experience tumultuous is an understatement. I went through a divorce, and I became obscure in the entertainment business. I lost everything personally, professionally, emotionally and spiritually. Make no mistake: I am not crying poor me by any stretch. I knew what I was getting into when I started pursuing this dream, but that didn’t stop it from hurting all the same.
After years of fighting to be a dad, and doing makeshift gigs to support my family and be a dad and never really dating, I met the woman of my dreams. She changed everything for me. She encouraged me to quit covering my 98 Degrees tattoo (a symbol of success, not embarrassment), rebuilt my confidence and advocated my jumping back into my career.
Enter Las Vegas. I was offered an emcee/hosting gig with Chippendales of all things. In my mind, there was no way in hell. My wife had a different idea; she insisted that I give it a shot. Plus, she is in the demographic of my fan base, which gave me some reassurance about doing the gig.
I had so much anxiety up until a week before the show’s opening night that I almost pulled out. Then I did the show, received great reviews and was given love from Las Vegas all around.
Everything rocks in Las Vegas. It’s big, it’s beautiful, it shimmers and gleams, it’s larger than life, and it’s still a small town. The people are amazing. The locals are incredible.
The folks who work in the casinos, run the clubs, the security and doormen at parties, the local press (of whom I know all by name) -- everyone looks out for one another. Hollywood doesn’t come close to doing that. New York is a bit more family-oriented than L.A., but it still doesn’t have the vibe Las Vegas does.
Because of my successful run with Chipps, I’ve been offered record deals, tours, TV shows, you name it; so far, I’m just happy being here in Las Vegas and working. Instead of me touring the country, the tour comes to me. If I want to get into trouble or host at a club or a bikini contest, I drive 20 minutes to the Strip.
Then I can go home and do homework with my kids, coach flag football and compose music in my temporary-turned-permanent home studio in my kitchen. I’ve got five kids; with my kids, my stepkids and my newborn, I’m happy with the balance that Las Vegas gives me.
For me, Las Vegas is a symbol of all that’s good. Quite the irony considering it’s Sin City. For me, Las Vegas is the best-kept secret in the entertainment business. That’s ironic, too, with it being an entertainment Mecca. I was supposed to be here for four weeks and ended up staying. They’re gonna have to run me outta this place!
BTW, check me out this summer in my new show “Wired” at Ovation Lounge in Green Valley Ranch. I gotta smokin’ band. Just sayin’. Oh, and thanks, Vegas. Sincerely.
Our congratulations to Jeff on becoming Las Vegas’ newest celebrity resident.

98 Degrees

Get ready for one hot August, the heartthrobs of 98 Degrees - the 1990s boy band that made guys sporting white tank tops look cool - are officially back in full gear, preparing to tour and head back in the studio to make some new music.
After announcing their addition to the August 18 lineup for the MixTape Festival in Hershey, PA (which will feature performances by The Wanted, New Kids on the Block, and even the Backstreet Boys) 98 Degrees also announced their scheduled appearance on the Today Show the day before the festival performance, August 17.

According to a press release sent out by the band on Tuesday, "With so much to celebrate, this reunion is going to be one big party, so whether you tune in to the Today Show or join us at the MixTape Festival, everyone's invited."
98 Degrees has not released any new material since their third and final studio album, 2000's Revelation. Following the band's split, band member went separate directions. Nick Lachey went on to become  a popular television personality, band mate Justin Jeffre got arrested at an Occupy Cincinnati protest, Jeff Timmons pursued a solo career, and Drew Lachey appeared on Broadway.
Band members Nick and Drew Lachey announced in June to Ryan Seacrest that the group will reunite for a one-time performance at the MixTape Festival. The Lachey brothers will reappear on stage with Timmons and Jeffre as the 98 Degrees originally quartet.
No further performances have been schedule for after the MixTape Festival or Today Show appearances, but the band states they are currently working in the studio now to release some new music.

Nick Lachey Summer TCA - H 2012

The '90s boy band, which is currently working on new music, will take the stage at the NBC morning show's "Summer Concert Series" on Aug. 17.

If you turned on top-40 radio in the late '90s, when the boy band craze reignited, chances are you heard one of these groups: the Backstreet Boys'NSYNC or 98 Degrees. After a lengthy absence from the spotlight, the latter group -- comprised of Nick LacheyDrew Lachey, Justin Jeffre andJeff Timmons -- is officially reuniting (to ostensibly reclaim the fleeting glory of their heyday).
The boy band, whose hits include "Because of You," "I Do" and "The Hardest Thing," will mark their first TV appearance in a decade on the Today show's "Summer Concert Series" Aug. 17. The next day, 98 Degrees will take the stage at the first annual Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Penn., performing on a roster including Kelly ClarksonLL Cool J and The Fray.
The Grammy-nominated quartet is also in the studio working on new material.
"In the ten years since our last performance as 98 Degrees we’ve each achieved personal success and grown as individuals, while remaining a close-knit family," said a statement on Tuesday. "With so much to celebrate, this reunion is going to be one big party, so whether you tune in to the Today Show or join us at the MixTape Festival, everyone’s invited.”
98 Degrees soared to radio success after their breakthrough album, 98 Degrees and Rising, went quadruple-platinum in 1998. They later released the follow-up Revelation, a Christmas album and a compilation album called The Collection before going on hiatus in 2002.
Nick Lachey went on to become a reality star with then-wife Jessica Simpson in MTV's (doomed) Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica; he also put out two solo albums, 2003's SoulO and 2006's divorce albumWhat's Left of Me. His sibling, Drew, appeared on ABC's Dancing With the Stars and Jeffre ran for mayor of Cincinnati in the past eight years.
