Cincinnati Reds second baseman and National League Player of the Month Scooter Gennett has been making the media rounds, and during an appearance Thursday on The Dan Patrick Show, he joked with the Mason High School graduate about just how excited his wife was to meet and get a picture with celebrity Cincinnati sports fan Nick Lachey at a Reds-Dodgers game in Los Angeles.
Gennett talked about how he "had to hear about it for like hours after the game" and that she was - "God's honest truth, for sure" - more excited about the Lachey encounter than she was when her husband became the first Red and 17th player in Major League Baseball history to hit four home runs in a game.
Gennett also told Patrick about the incident he had in his backyard on the Yamaha Zuma 125 scooter the Reds gave him for his four-homer game last June before he donated it to a Reds Community Fund sweepstakes, which he detailed on MLB Network's Intentional Talk earlier this week.
