This Friday – 11-11-11 – Over-the-Rhine's Emery Theatre will stage a celebration of the 100-year-old venue. More than 10 Cincinnati arts companies will join with the Requiem Project, which is working on restoring the theater to its past glory.
Head here for tickets. Headliners include musical group Over-the-Rhine; musician and composer Peter Adams; choreographerHeather Britt; Exhale Dance Tribe; and Madcap Puppet Theatre. (Dancing With the Stars winner and Cincinnatian Drew Lachey will dance with Exhale Dance Tribe.)
Remember – when Emery opened in 1911, it was the first theater in the United States with all unobstructed views. Its acoustics are legendary.
This weekend is a preview – the Emery will close again so that work can continue. Led by Tara Lindsey Gordon and Tina Manchise, two New Yorkers who came to Cincinnati to reopen the Emery, the Requiem Project is still going full-force.
