Hot dog! Lots of July Fourth fare on tap

SOURCE

Here's diversity for Independence Day celebrating: Josh Grobin, Nick Lachey, Rascal Flatts and competitive hot-dog eating.

They are not on the same stage, by the way.

Grobin will lend his powerhouse voice to "A Capitol Fourth" (8 p.m. EDT Monday, PBS), coming from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Jimmy Smits is host of the event, which is also scheduled to feature performances from Little Richard, Steve Martin, Steep Canyon Rangers and Matthew Morrison.

Lachey headlines "The 35th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks" (9 p.m. Monday, NBC) in New York City. The special will mark, too, the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. Pop tunes will accent a pyrotechnics show. Anika Noni Rose and Karen Olivo are slated to do a bilingual rendition of the original song "Gift of Light."
