Twelve years after they released their fourth studio album, 98 Degrees is getting back together, and are gearing up to take the stage once again this summer. The Insider caught up with the band and found out why they decided to reunite.

We've always said we're leaving the door wide-open on getting back together some day and it just felt like the right time in everyone's personal lives [and] in everyone's professional lives, [and] everyone's schedules lined up," said Nick Lachey. "We're very excited to finally be doing this again."

The band that gained popularity in the late '90s with hits like "Invisible Man" and "Because of You" may still fit under the label of boy band because of their vocal style and choreographed dance moves, but the men of 98 Degrees are all now into their late 30s.
"You adjust. You have to warm up more," Drew Lachey said of performing at an older age. "You have to warm your voice up more; you have to warm up your body more. So, it is a process, but once you get into the groove and it becomes routine, it's just like anything else: you just get back into it and go full-force."

Lachey, who was recently selected to be on Dancing with the Stars' upcoming All-Star season, says that the same will be true of balancing his busy schedule between the show and the band's affairs.
"This morning I was doing a 'Dancing with the Stars' title shoot and photo shoot and then I came here to rehearsal, and then I'll do rehearsal and then I'll go to the studio," he said. "It's just a matter of getting in where I can."

In addition to his showbiz responsibilities, Lachey is also a husband and father of two children. His brother Nick praised Drew's parenting and expressed excitement to become a father soon with his wife Vanessa on the verge of delivering their child.
"This is something I've looked forward to for a long, long time," he said. "Drew's a great dad, so he's a great example of how to care of your family. It's exciting to have that in my own personal life...Any day now, we're going to expect a little one."
98 Degrees is set to make its first public appearances in nearly seven years, starting with its first television appearance in over ten years on the Today show summer concert series on August 17. The band will then perform at the Summer MixTape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania the following day.
