Cincinnati.Com:
Welcome to our live chat with very special guest Drew Lachey. Let’s get started!
12:01
Comment From Dana
Are you still in touch with Cheryl Burke? She seems like a sweetheart...
12:01
Drew:
Yes I am and yes she is. And she is a great teacher
12:01
Comment From Laura
Are you excited about being an uncle? How often do you get to see Nick and Vanessa?
12:02
Drew:
I am thrilled to become an uncle. We usually see each other ablest every month but talk every day
12:02
Comment From Meg
Do you still dance? Who would win in a Dancing With the Stars dance-off -- you or Chad?
12:02
Drew:
I bring out the dance moves every once in a blue moon
12:03
Drew:
I think I would have to bet on myself
12:03
Comment From Guest
What's your favorite local restaurant?
12:04
Drew:
That is a really tough question. A love going to Vine street in OTR and just grazing. No shortage of options.
12:04
Comment From Guest
Are you having fun in Vegas? Are you there now?
12:05
Drew:
Today is my day off so I jumped over to LA to see Nick and Vanessa and take some meetings. Vegas is fun but I am there for 3 weeks so I have to pace myself. Lol
12:06
Comment From Guest
Is 98 Degrees getting back together?? Are you going on tour?
12:07
Drew:
We have always left that door open. We would love to at some point. It is just hard getting 4 guys with separate lives and families and schedules all coordinated.
12:07
Comment From Guest
Are you offering any scholarships for the summer camp? I'm not sure we can afford it...
12:07
Comment From Guest
Who will teach the summer camp? Any names we would recognize?
12:08
Drew:
We have already awarded almost 2 dozen scholarships.
12:09
Drew:
The teachers are from NY and LA. If you are familiar with Broadway stars then yes you would probably recognize them. I am by excited about this summer!
12:09
Comment From Matt Spencer
Hey Drew! How have you been? It is Matt!
12:10
Drew:
How's it going? Things are good. How is your family?
12:10
Comment From Guest
What do you think about Chad going to the Dolphins?
12:11
Drew:
Haha. They need help and he needs a team. Sounds like a win win. I hope he can have a good season.
12:11
Comment From AMY
have you thought about doing dancing with the stars ALL STARS
12:12
Drew:
I haven't really thought too much about it. It all comes down to what ABC wants. It's not up to me. I had a blast the first time around though.
12:12
Comment From John
What's it like doing a game show live at the Vegas casino?
12:13
Drew:
It is a lot of fun. It is the same as the televised version only in the casino. And some people have a drink or 2 which always makes things a little more interesting. Come on down!
12:14
Comment From Guest
Where do you hang out when you're not working?
12:15
Drew:
I have a couple of friends in Vegas so usually with them. Of course there are great shows and plenty to do so it is hard to be bored there. I try to stay away from the blackjack though
12:15
Comment From Kristine
Why is the Lachey Camp limited to 14-19 year olds? My sons are 10 & 11 ...
12:16
Drew:
This is a common question. The reason is , the curriculum that we are teaching THIS YEAR is a little too mature for younger kids. Plus voices are changing still
12:17
Drew:
We are opening it up to younger kids next summer
12:17
Comment From Frank
I know you and your brother are huge Bearcat fans. Would you please consider reopening the former Holy Grail that is close to campus ? Great location that will be sorely missed by many, for having a cold one before the games.
12:18
Drew:
I feel your pain brother. It was a staple but I do not think I would be good a running a bar. Everything would be" on the house"
12:19
Comment From Guest
Are you still living in Cincinnati? My cousin went to school with you in North College Hill
12:20
Drew:
My family and I moved back about 2 years ago. Lea and I just didn't want to raise our family in LA so we decided to move home.
12:20
Comment From Thing 1
I saw you and your brother at the recent DMB concert at Riverbend. Favorite DMB song ?
12:21
Drew:
We were there! I have a lot of songs that I like but Ants Marching was the first one that I remember saying " I like this song". Gotta love Crash though
12:22
Comment From Thing 1
Rumors are you will be joining the cast of the First National Tour of War Horse when it opens in Los Angeles this month. Any truth to the story on playbill.com ?
12:23
Drew:
Uhhhhhhh. First I have heard of it but I would love to. My favorite thing to do us theater so I would absolutely love that.
12:23
Comment From Judy Albers
I think you are a great as an emcee/host. I liked you hosting dancing with the stars and also listen to you on Q102 when you fill in. Do you prefer interacting that way more than peforming on stage? You just seem very natural at it.
12:24
Drew:
They are completely different but I enjoy them both. There is something fun about being able to engage people as yourself but the rush that comes from performing is like no other feeling.
12:25
Comment From Jess
I think that it's great that you and your wife are offering the camp, At first I thought it was a little costly for some children's families to be able to afford, however I do now see that scholarships were awarded. Just wanted to say Thank You!
12:28
Drew:
We realize that it isn't cheap but in order for us to bring in this caliber of teacher and offer a cutting edge program it is necessary. In a perfect world it would be free for everybody that has a true passion for performing.
12:28
Comment From HamiltonVoter
I'm interested to know if you have done anything to help prevent anti-gay bullying in our schools.
12:30
Drew:
In my opinion, the best way to prevent all bullying is by teaching tolerance. Whether it is based on race, sexuality, weight, whatever. We all have a responsibility to lead by example. The kids have to learn the behavior from somewhere
12:30
Comment From Doug Steimle
Drew, any word on your reading for a musical on Broadway.
12:31
Drew:
The process of doing a reading is a painfully long one. It could be years before the show makes it's way to Broadway. It was a fun show to do though. Lol
12:31
Comment From Guest
I enjoy you when you fill in on Q-102. Do you plan to continue as your schedule permits ?
12:32
Drew:
I really like being a part of Q102. Iam always open to coming in and having a little fun with them. They do a great job and I have learned a ton from them.
12:33
Comment From Matt Spencer
We are all doing good!! Sarah graduated a couple weeks ago and will be heading off to Liberty University in mid August!!
12:33
Drew:
Nice! Please give everybody my best.
12:33
Comment From Cindy
Would Lea like to go back to Broadway at some point?
12:35
Drew:
She is as natural of a performer as there is! Every time I watch her dance I get chills but she is happy where she is. She is teaching and doing choreography for the Exhale Dance Tribe which is where here passion lies now.
12:35
Comment From Guest
What are the current odds at Ballys for the Bengals to win the division ?
12:36
Drew:
That is a very good question. The sports book is at the other end so I haven't seen but I'll throw a couple bucks on em.
12:37
Comment From Guest
Are you excited to see the World Choir Games in Cincinnati?
12:38
Drew:
I think the world choir games a great for our city. It allows us the opportunity to show everybody how amazing Cincy is and celebrate the rich arts history that we have. I will be there!
12:38
Comment From Frank
sounds like you would make a great bar owner/investor wiith the motto " it's on the house
12:39
Drew:
I would be everybody's favorite but I don't think it would stay in business for too long. Lol
12:40
Comment From Dan
I need a hook up for Necker Island. Can you put a good work in with Rich ?
12:41
Drew:
It would be my pleasure. The great house burned down after getting struck by lightening but it was absolute paradise and Rich is too cool for school!
12:41
Comment From Charlene
Do you support any local fundraisers or local sport teams? I admire that your and Nick have not forgotten where you came from.
12:42
Drew:
I am on the board for Camp Joy. It is a camp just north of city that helps underserved kids. They are doing amazing work there
12:42
Comment From Guest 100
Do you find your get approached more by your fans in Cincinnati or in LA ? We see you out, from time to time, but try to respect your privacy.
12:44
Drew:
People in Cincinnati are awesome. I feel like Norm from Cheers. I walk in places and people are like " hey Drew" and that's it. It's like having a city full of friends. I love it.
12:44
Comment From Guest
How many students will be in the camp in August?
12:45
Drew:
Registration is open for a couple of more days so I don't know what the final numbers will be yet. But applications come in everyday.
12:45
Comment From Charlene
My daughter just did a trip to Camp Joy for the first time with her 6th grade class. She had an amazing time!
12:46
Drew:
It is a magical place. I was a counselor there when I was 16-17. I helped make me who I am.
12:46
Comment From Charlene
Have you ever visited the restaurant called Blue Ash Chili? It was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives a couple years ago.
12:47
Drew:
No I haven't yet. I will put it on my list of places I need to go.
12:47
Comment From John Kiesewetter
Hi Drew! Thanks so much for chatting with your fans today here at Cincinnati.Comand on my blog. Do you have any final comments before we wrap up?
12:48

Just want to say thank you to everybody in Cincy for all of the support they have showed the Lachey family. It means a lot to us and we love being HOME!
12:49
