nick-lachey-rainiersFormer 98 Degrees member and ex-Mr. Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey hasn't let his money go completely to waste, he became a part-owner of the Tacoma Rainiers, the AAA affiliate for the Seattle Mariners. On Friday, after an 11-inning 10-6 win over the Memphis Redbirds, the Rainiers had completed a sweep of the previous year's champions and earned the first outright Pacific Coast League championship for the franchise since 1969.

After the game, as his players sprayed one another with champagne and celebrated Lachey was watching on, with a big smile on his face.

"When you invest in a team, you buy a team, this is what you dream of," Lachey said, "this moment when you’re dousing champagne in the visiting team’s locker room, when you’ve just taken their heart and soul away and you’ve won the championship on their field.

"I think I speak on behalf of the entire ownership group when I say this is amazing. This is what we've always dreamed of. I couldn't be prouder of Tacoma, the city, the team, of all the players and the administration for making this happen."

I can't believe Lachey is even able to buy a baseball ticket, let alone OWN a team. I'm saddened that he has that much money.

One thing is certain: the world is NOT fair.
