If you thought you saw Drew Lachey around town recently, you probably did. Drew and his wife, Western Hills native and SCPA classmate Lea Dellecave — who is expecting their second child soon — moved back from Los Angeles several months ago.

“When you’re raising a family, you want to give them the best chance for having a good life,” says Lachey, 33, a 1994 School for Creative & Performing Arts graduate. They also have a daughter, born four years ago, weeks after Lachey won the “Dancing with the Stars” second season with Cheryl Burke.

Lachey hosts Friday’s Dance For Joy dinner dance at the Cintas Center to benefit Camp Joy, the Warren County facility where Lachey was a summer camp counselor in 1992-93. No tickets are available for the $100-per-person event, says Lachey, who helped organize the event.

“Dancing with the Stars” producers – in town with Burke and Chad Ochocinco this week – have been told about the fund-raiser, says Mike McGinty, Camp Joy executive director. “If they want to swing by, that would be OK,” Lachey says. Adds McGinty: “It is in the hands of the ABC producers.”

Lachey says he’s still pursuing TV hosting and theater jobs, including a game show pilot for CMT. He and brother Nick Lachey also have two shows in development at their Flying Pig Productions company, “a competition show and a reality show based on a Cincinnati company.” He would not elaborate. Hmmmmmm. I wonder what they’re up to.
