A memorial food drive for Second Harvest used some star power to catch the attention of Vol fans on Saturday.

Singer and actor Nick Lachey was one of many volunteers selling orange power towels to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank during the 18th Annual Tim Kerin Food Drive.

The towels are sold for $5 each, which provides 3 meals for families in need.

The Tim Kerin Food Drive was started in memory of the UT football team's head athletic trainer who died in 1992.

Lachey saw his first Vol football game at Neyland Stadium Saturday afternoon as part of his tour of the country to help food banks.

"I'm just trying to raise support and raise awareness for the problem and try to encourage people to go out to their local food banks, volunteer donate canned goods, just be apart of trying to find a solution to the hunger problem," Lachey said.

Lachey says he started an auction website called www.winnit.com to raise money for Feeding America. The new auction website gives different items to the lowest unique bidder.

In the past five years, the Tim Kerin Food Drive has raised between 40 to $50,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank annually.
