Hey guys,

We’ve been on the road for three days now and it’s been a real blast. My good buddy Justin Jeffre (from 98 Degrees) decided to meet up and ride with us until we get to Louisville.

Being on the road with him again definitely brings back some great memories — especially the time when we almost left him at the hotel on one of our tour stops. It was a very early morning and none of us had had our coffee yet. We all piled into the bus, half asleep and didn’t realize that Justin was missing until we were halfway to St. Louis!

As we make our way across the country on the Winnit.com tour, I’ve convinced a few friends to join me for the trip. First up is my friend Tony who I’ve known since we were fraternity brothers in college, and then there’s Tommy who’s one of my best friends but because of his size and stature, he also fills the position of security perfectly.

On Monday morning, we started the tour at the Freestore Foodbank in my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio where we spent about five hours volunteering for Feeding America and doing a few interviews for the local Cinci papers & TV stations. It’s really incredible to be out here meeting the people who so generously spend time lending a hand to feed the hungry. When we wrapped up at the foodbank, we grabbed some lunch and hit the road.

At about 6:30 pm, Tony, Tommy, Justin and I made one of the first Winnit.com deliveries to a great family right outside of Pittsburgh. We arrived at their house and there were about 30 people waiting for us on the front steps! Two of the girls at the house had actually driven three hours from Penn State to be there which was really cool. The family was full of energy and incredibly hospitable offering us homemade food and drinks. The dad, an avid machine toolist and hunter, took us on a tour of their house including their trophy room and garage where he has some serious tools and was rebuilding the engine on a drag racing car. After about an hour, we said our goodbyes and headed back out on the road.

We pulled into downtown Pittsburgh around 8:30 p.m. and finished off the night with a great steak dinner at The Capital Grille and watched the “timeless wonder” Brett Favre work his magic on the Packers. Next stop is Boston and then New York City where I’ll be waking up early for an appearance on the Today Show.

Signing off for now, stay tuned!

Nick
