98 Degrees turned up the heat dial at the 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs, making everyone’s hearts melt with their smooth vocals we oh so love and remember!
This may be a 2018 award show, but 98 Degrees gave the iHeartRadio MMVAs a much needed dose of ’90s and early 2000s nostalgia! The four group members — Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre and brother duo Nick and Drew Lachey — took the stage in Toronto, Canada on Aug. 26 to perform their classics in matching black leather. And we’re so happy with their song choices of “Because Of You,” “The Hardest Thing,” and “Give Me Just One Night.” We swooned over their contemporary pop and R&B vocals, which gave us a chance to slow down (just a tiny bit) after hype sets from artists like Bebe Rexha, 28 and Meghan Trainor, 24!
The four rocked their signature coordination on the red carpet tonight, all in suits. Nick and Jeff kept it more casual in head-to-toe black with loose-fit blazers, while Justin and Drew suited up in tuxedo jackets. Nick even admitted on the red carpet that they “stepped it up” for this MMVAs appearance, and we can tell! All were just as dashing as they were in 1996, when 98 Degrees first formed. The last six years must have really brought the men back together! After a hiatus from 2002 to 2012, 98 Degrees reunited and have been returning to dozens of stages. We most recently covered their appearances at the 2018 Miss USA Competition on May 21, and the talented men even took over HollywoodLife’s Instagram Story last Thanksgiving at the 2017 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade! They were such a delight. So of course, we were happy to see them delight even more fans tonight!
But 98 Degrees isn’t just a throwback group. They’ve been releasing new material since 2013! For the group’s 20th anniversary, they released a Let It Snow album in 2017, just in time for Christmas. The four-man dream team will even be going on their holiday-themed 98° At Christmas 2018 tour on Nov. 1. Well, their voices definitely make us feel oh so warm and cozy!
Now, let us go back to partying like it’s 1998 again. We love nothing more than handsome men dancing in synchronization!
Nick Lachey used to compete with Justin Timberlake when they were both in boy bands.
Nick was singing for 98 Degrees and Justin was a member of NSYNC.
But on Sunday evening Nick proved to be a fan of the hitmaker as he hit Timberlake's concert at The Forum in Inglewood.
Nick, 44, left a couple of buttons open over his chest and held hands with his wife when they were photographed stepping out in Inglewood.
Vanessa, née Minnillo, slid into a tartan button-down dress with a slit up the front, offering a full view of charcoal boots that complemented her black hat.
Vanessa and Nick Lachey looked absolutely smitten on the red carpet Friday night.
The couple dazzled in black tie attire for the 45th Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards hosted by Mario Lopez.
Minnillo was both a presenter and Emmy nominee at the prestigious event.
Playing the part of a plus one,' Lachey said on Instagram just before the awards. 'I'm going to be the best plus one the world has ever seen. I'm going with my Emmy nominated wife.'
The 98 Degrees singer looked dapper in a black tux alongside Vanessa who commanded attention in a plunging beaded gown.
The Top Chef Jr. host rocked a sleek ponytail with her silver tulle ensemble.
There are some pretty shocking statistics out there when it comes to literacy in the U.S. Forty-five million Americans read at or below a fifth-grade level, according to Parents. In an effort to raise awareness of this problem, Nick Lachey is helping kids learn to read. For Lachey it starts with cracking open a copy of Secret Pizza Party and extends to involving others in outreach efforts to combat illiteracy.
While many of us picture childhoods filled with cute little book shelves and cozy story-times, literacy rates have long been an issue for adults who missed out on early reading. The literacy rate in the U.S. hasn't improved in a decade, according to the Huffington Post, and the National Assessment of Adult Literacy reported that 14 percent of adult Americans read at a “below basic” literacy level and 29 percent only at a “basic” reading level. These and other shocking numbers are motivation to do something about poor reading levels across the country.
In an attempt to raise awareness, Nick Lachey partnered with the nonprofit The Literacy Project and long-time champion of literacy, Pizza Hut, to read with children at his local elementary school who may miss out on regular story time. Lachey, a father of three, told Parents that reading isn't as commonplace in some homes as it is in his own. Rather than let those children suffer from lack of access to reading material, he took matters into his own hands.
