Nick Lachey takes over for Carrie Keagan as host of VH1's 'Big Morning Buzz Live'

Nick Lachey is suiting up as the new host of VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz Live,” shooting in Times Square Monday to Friday from 10-11 a.m.
Mornings on VH1 are getting 98 Degrees hotter.
Boy band hearthrob turned reality star Nick Lachey begins hosting “Big Morning Buzz Live” on March 3 from the same Times Square studio that helped catapult his career in the ’90s.
“That was ‘TRL’ back in the day ... so to be back there is pretty cool,” says Lachey, 40, who’s taking over Carrie Keagan’s hosting gig on the morning news show weekdays from 10 to 11 a.m.
“The energy of looking out those windows into Times Square, the energy that happens in that space is definitely still there,” he says. “I’m looking forward to getting started.”
His wife and former MTV VJ Vanessa Minnillo (now on Fox’s “Dads”), who is moving with their 17-month-old son Camden to join Lachey in Manhattan, is coaching him for live TV.
“Things are gonna go wrong, and you have to be able to laugh those off,” he says. “The audience will be at ease if you’re at ease.”
He’s already got hosting gigs such as NBC’s “The Sing-Off” a cappella contest and the canceled “The Winner Is” under his belt, and he’s keeping up on current events for the “Buzz’s” news segments and interviews.
“It should just be a hang — a couple of people hanging out, as if we’re at a bar talking about a project,” Lachey says of his Q&A-style.
Don’t expect any gotcha journalism or hard-hitting questions here.
“I never appreciated it when I was blindsided with a question not discussed in a pre-interview,” he says. “I don’t want anyone who comes on the show to feel like I’m not on their team.”
